What if world failed to circulate rounding the sun?

I recently read an article which mentioning that world isn't be that globe in form... hmmm what do you wonder it will be??? It formed most likely a potato.. Yes a potato guys... interesting isn't it??

Have you ever hear about the  Urban Design? Actually Urban Design is a study which concern about the arrangement, appearance and functionality of towns and cities, and in particular the shaping and uses of urban public space. It has traditionally been regarded as a disciplinary subset of urban planning, landscape architecture, or architecture and in more recent times has been linked to emergent disciplines such as landscape urbanism. that i'm understand after my presentation last week n today.

Public space includes the totality of spaces used freely on a day-to-day basis by the general public, such as streets, plazas, parks and public infrastructure. Some aspects of privately owned spaces, such as building facades or domestic gardens, also contribute to public space and are therefore also considered by urban design theory. Important writers on, and advocates for, urban design theory include Kevin Lynch, Gordon Cullen, Christopher Alexander, , that i'm try to study and finish my reading laa.

There are varies understanding of two fields that are closely related, 'urban design' differs from 'urban planning'. Urban Design its focus on physical improvement of the public environment, whereas the Urban Planning is more about in practice of urban design, which focus on the management of private development through established planning methods and programs, and other statutory development controls. *That's my shallow understanding based on my shallow readings*

Urban Design emphasis on more than one aspect which normally being discuss which the pedestrian linkage(pathway) like what have been said in The Image of the City by Kevin Lynch. It diverse to the landuse patterns(district ), urban pattern, urban morphology, public realm, human concentration in a place (nodes), place attachment (sequential study by Gordon Cullen in Concise of Townscape) and lots more. Yeah its a wide discovery of knowledge that study on human movement and dispersal from a place to another within a city.

As i said earlier, i am about to explain my study during Urban Design project now. fisrt week we need to present and study about the methodology of  in Urban Design. then today we selected our proposed site.  Our site is located one district in kuala kangsar region which named Pengairan sungai perak and also involved public space..

Assalam kawan-kawan..kali ini saya ingin berkongsi tentang KONFLIK PERANCANGAN DALAM PEMBANGUNAN...mungkin ini merupakan salah satu isu dalam rekabentuk bandar. 

1. perancang bandar dipersalahkan..kenapa??hal ini akibat dari pelan-pelan yang tidak lengkap/ tidak siap dan juga lambat disediakan. selain itu, pembangunan yang tidak terkawal dan tedapat pocket development juga menyebabkan perancangan bandar di persalahkan. 

2. pertumbuhan bandar yang terlalu cepat dan aktif akibat polisi pembangunan kerajaan, perancangan asal diubah atau terpaksa diubah. hal ini juga oleh dikaitkan dengan campurtangan politik..dimana perancangan pembangunan telah disediakan dan disiapkan tetapi setelah adanya campur tangan politik, segalanya telah  bercampuraduk dan diubah mengikut kehendak politik.  dengan alasan "kehendak dan kepentingan rakyat dan negara. oleh itu perancangantersebut telah  diatur dan diarah oleh orang yang berpengaruh dan berpolitik bukannya perancang bandar. 

3. kelemahan dan kekurangan undang-undang dan peraturan. undang-undang Malaysia yang terlalu rapuh menyebabkan terdapat "loophole" yang mudah diambil kesempatan oleh orang yang berpangaruh dan sebagainya. dalam perancang pembangunan juga tidak mengikut pelaksanaan yang betul dan boleh diambil alih (overuled). 

4. perancang bandar yang tidak bertauliah.. no idea to say..tapi akan diceritakan 6t..

5. masalah pihak lain yang tidak mahir berperanan menjadi perancang bandar. pembangunan yang dirancang tidak memenuhi kehendak rakyat malah merosakkan sistem perancangan. 

URBAN DESIGN??...

What is urban design?ok..in my opinion after reading many books..for me urban design is the process of shaping a city's physical form. urban design also combined urban planning with architecture and also landscapes architecture. But urban design contrast to "urban planning" means tends to focus on the two dimensional spatial arrangements of buildings, uses and also function. It's also to make urban areas functional and attractive. urban design can operates in 3 scales is the regions (city and town), the neighborhood (districts and corridors) and also the blocks (street and building). 

Urban design have also some issues that i'm understand...such as requirement of land for development, understanding nature and environmental needs, political need and pressure and also weakness in city management. 
1. designer never understand nature and environmental needs..they only think about money (keuntungan). when they make some development in new places, no conservation of green environment because ( akan membentuk waste land and merugikan mereka) and also no repair damage during implemention. 
2. i'm very like about this issues..is political needs and pressure. urban design have problem because conflict between political needs and planning requirement. Political invention only happens in Malaysia. 
Perancangan Malaysia boleh menjadi lebik baik daripada Singapora kerana Singapora merupakan negara yang mempunyai sistem trafik dan perancangan yang baik. dengan ini Malaysia boleh menjadikan Singapora sebagai contoh..namun prancangan di Malaysia menjadi lebih teruk dengan pelbagai masalah terutamanya sistem trafik dan pengangkutan. 
kenapa hal ini terjadi??hal ini terjadi kerana terdapat campurtangan politik dalam perancangan malaysia..
